Cupid's Divine Wines

As people made their way through Modernbook Gallery, you could hear them say “Newton’s Merlot is unlike any other” or “That’s John Prager from Prager Port over there! Have you tried his white port? It’s beautiful.” And on occasion you would hear “I can’t keep up!”

The sound of a saxophone lingered in the background and you could hear the winemakers’ enthusiasm in conversations all over the room. And as people made their way upstairs, they found more excitement in having a picture taken by Beata Pevny behind a magical (and large sized) heart.

You always had a piece of Godiva chocolate in one hand, and a glass of wine in the other. We sipped it, we swirled it and we shared it with friends.

Thank you to our participating wineries: Prager Winery and Port Works, Radee Wines, Rimon Wine, Cannonball, B.R. Cohn, Hagafen Wines and Newton Vineyards. Thank you Godiva Chocolatier. This event also raised funds for United Prosperity. Thank you to Kjarni Organic Perfumes for your donation. Thank you to Modernbook Gallery for hosting Cupid’s Divine Wines.

Thank you to our 100 guests on the eve of February 11th. We hoped you enjoyed. See you at our Organic & Sustainable wine event!

When you browse the deeply sensual profile pictures of Beata Pevny’s online portfolio, you drift off to a place of romance, sensuality and desire. Pictures of old movies and memories of the Victorian setting of a novel you read long ago, float through your mind. You are in red.

Few things can provoke such feelings and it may be why Valentine’s Day seems more than appropriate a time to ignite such sentiments of lust and divinity. When you browse Beata’s Film Noir Fashion Stills, you have a sense that sensuality is an essential part of life, in a way that it seems useless to live without it. An African woman in silver silk and pearls, the mysterious purpose of a woman with a pistol, the focused and angered look of another behind the wheel. You can’t help but wonder, which part of me embraces this sort of hidden self?

Beata captures the mystery and sensuality of people in her photographic art. It seems very fitting that the artist herself will be at Modernbook Gallery, Thursday, February 11th to capture guests in one of the most sensual experiences of all: wine tasting.

Cupid’s Divine Wines present photographer Beata Pevny at her best, in the season of love this February.
